Heaton Hawks JFC is an FA Charter Standard Development Club are operated through a dedicated group of volunteers.
We have staff who operate from the canteen through to the Committee.
Anyone wishing to help out may speak to any member of our Committee, their details and roles are listed below:
Chairman – Micky Taylor
Micky has been involved in the club since 2001/2002 season when his oldest son Michael moved to the Club to play for the Under 12’s. Micky helped with the chairman Bob Day in which he ran the line, set up the pitch up etc… In the summer of 2003, Micky took his middle son, Daniel, and his friend James down to Sean’s training at the City Stadium and within 3 weeks had been talked into coaching the team by Sean for the up and coming season. Micky coached the current Under 18’s team up to Under 10’s before moving back down to the little in’s and have coached the Under 7s/8s since then. Micky was asked to be the Clubs Mini Soccer Co-ordinator and then asked to take over the Chairman’s role when Bob Day decided to “retire” in 2010. The Club have went from strength to strength year after year resulting is us now being an established “Community Club”. The Fun Club has moved onto another level with around 40 children from 4 to 7 year old enjoying the game.
Secretary – David Allan
David is entering his tenth year with the Hawks after first getting involved when his son joined a number of years ago. David has predominantly been involved in coaching the younger groups at the Hawks as they set out on there footballing education at mini soccer, specifically under 9’s and under 10’s as David was previously Mini Soccer Co-Ordinator for the club for three seasons. In the 2014/2015 season he undertook a new adventure as he continued to coach the club’s under 11 Hawks on the new 9 v 9 format, which was something that both team and David were looking forward to. As the club grows and expands both on and off the football field, David has taken over the responsibilities of Heaton Hawks Club Secretary which David is sure will be a big learning curve and one he will relish.
Treasurer – Paul Wright
Like a lot of coaches, Paul first got involved with Heaton Hawks as a parent. Paul’s son started playing for the Under 8s in 2006 and as Paul was attending every match and training session, Paul was asked if he would like to take his coaching badges and run a team. He took on the Under 10s in 2008, initially intended for one season only, and has been coaching the team ever since! Paul has helped Micky out in the past with the Fun Club when it was running on a Saturday morning and has assisted Colin with the Under 13 Girls. Since the 2014/2015 season where Paul and Richie took on an Under 7’s team, they have worked along side each other to progress and develop the players. Paul is also pleased to say that two players from his first under 10s team back in 2008 have taken an interest now to coaching and have occasionally helped out at Fun Club and his Under 7’s team. The is great news for the future of coaching at the Hawks and hopefully a reflection on what other players’ may do in the future.
Commercial Coordinator – Richie Martin
Richie like a lot of managers first got involved with the club when his son joined in 2007/2008 season. More recently Richie along with Micky Taylor and Paul Wright have been developing the future players of the club. Richie also works alongside Paul Wright as coaches of the Under 10 teams. Richie along with the remainder of the committee is looking forward to the challenges ahead of taking the club forward.

Founding member – Sean Stobbs
Sean was a founder member of the Hawks back in 1997 along with John Bower and Rob Davidson. Sean explains that the Hawks was originally set up as there was a lack of opportunities for youngsters to play in the East End of Newcastle. Sean’s late father in law, Bill Barron, asked Sean, along with John and Rob to develop a local junior football club, which is when they created Heaton Hawks JFC. Bill Barron was the first chairman of Heaton Hawks JFC.
Founding member – John Bower
John was one of the 3 founder members back in 1997 as the club started with 2 teams alongside Sean Stobbs and Rob Davidson. He has steered the club forward from its early days at “The Tip” in Shieldfield to the now sunny pastures of The Manor. Whilst coaching and managing teams from Under 7’s up to Under 19’s and back again, he also maintained the clubs structure and finances and has firmly put Heaton Hawks on the map. John is very proud of how the Hawks have expanded and developed over the years and looks forward to the club going from strength to strength.
After a difficult last 14 months for his family John has decided to take a little step back from the hurly burly everyday involvement within the club. John insists he will always be there to help and advise and no doubt he will as the Hawks has been and always will be in his blood.
